The numbers are based on the amount of shots you get with a balanced power setting (33/33/33) and the amount you get with full power to weapons (100/0/0)īCD = before capacitors deplete Aegis Gladius:ĭamage BCD normal power ( 21 shots x3 ) 9,450 damageĭamage BCD full power ( 25 shots x3 ) 11,250 damageĭamage BCD normal power ( 26 shots x3 ) 4,680 damageĭamage BCD full power ( 31 shots x3 ) 5,580 damage Cannons also have functionally the same stats so you can pretty much pick whichever cannons you like the look of. I usually go with NDB because I like the pretty blue pew pew. If you have NDB or attrition repeaters you can use them instead and be just as effective. Repeater damage calculations are based on CF-series repeaters but the numbers will be the same for NDBs and Attritions as they all share the same stats in 3.14 (aside from a slight difference in emissions). I spent some time testing things and made a comparison of two of the most nimble light fighters and their damage output with a cannon loadout vs. Cannons can pump out almost twice as much damage before needing to recharge. This statistic is actually very misleading because of the way capacitors work. If you use Erkul DPS Calculator, you've probably seen that laser repeaters and laser cannons have the exact same DPS at most sizes. Ballistic weapons do great damage now but carry so little ammo that most people are going to be using primarily energy weapons, at least for PVE.

Weapons are a whole new beast with the new capacitor system and power management.

I made this little guide to help newer players decide what loadout is the best choice for them.Īll size 1 shields have the same HP, but Palisade and Guardian are the best shield choices right now as they provide additional ballistic protection with no real downsides other than slightly higher emissions than stealth shields. So until the larger ships get their stats tweaked a bit, it seems like most people are going to be focusing on light fighters. Unfortunately everything larger like the Cutlass and Vanguard now handle like drunken pontoon boats. Currently, light fighters are by far the most viable for PVE combat.
